Most of the 'revelations' have been in the news the past decade. I think the main interest of the book is in the extent to which theories of pre-Columbian America have been overturned in the past 25 years. The Clovis theory is out - human activity is known to have occurred in South America before the earliest Clovis finds. Advanced civilizations existed in southern Mexico and in South America many thousands of years ago. The land-bridge + miraculous ice-sheet opening theory is now discredited. Possibly the best guess is that Indians came down the coast in boats - the Pacific created a narrow band of habitable land even at the height of the ice age.
In all, this is a good summary of the current state of American archaelogy and anthropology. Take it all with a grain of salt - the theories and speculations popular among scientists today are sure to be overturned tomorrow.
