This is yet another supposedly good book that I just could not enjoy. It tells the story of Mamah Cheney and Frank Lloyd Wright. Cheney was married to a minor industrialist named Edwin Cheney and began an affair with Wright while Wright was designing their Oak Park home. The story is moderately interesting, I suppose, but was written in an awkward sort of docu-drama manner, in which dialogue was mostly used for supplying historical/biographical information about the characters. Not at all the sort of dialogue you would expect from a good novelist.
